NEW DELHI: Indian cyclist Somvir, who is recuperating from dengue fever at the Jessa Ram hospital in the capital, may have to wait for a day or two more to be discharged and resume training. "Somvir's condition is better now," said the doctor treating the cyclist.
Hospital sources told TOI that Somvir was to be released on Tuesday but his platelet count dipped and he was advised to stay back for a day or two.

"I am feeling fine now. The doctor advised me to stay back just as a precautionary measure," Somvir told TOI on Tuesday.
The doctor said that Somvir can resume his physical regimen after his release but advised him to take it easy for a couple of days keeping in mind the rigorus physical activity he will undertake for the Commonwealth Games. He added that the patient has become concious of all the media attention, which was not good for him.
"His name is being flashed all over and the patient is feeling uncomfortable," the doctor said.
On his preparations for the mega event Somvir said, "No one can predict a medal winner.
All the cyclists will be very well preapred. We have trained hard and will try to achieve something. I hope to be back on the tracks soon."
